Black Lady from Mount Lasota
Long time ago there was a wonderful mansion on one of the hills in Krzemionki that was called Mount Lasota. In that house there lived a very beautiful young and rich girl - she was as much beautiful as much her heart was full of cruelty - she obliged peasants to a very hard work and never helped them giving even the smallest coin.
She died very young and since nobody wanted to live in the mansion, the decision was taken to demolish it and to build a tiny church. An old hermit settled down in the nearbies and each night he could see the ghost of the young girl wandering around and crying over and over again.
Once the girl told him that it was still possible to save her soul but there was one condition: a volunteer was supposed to be found and he would be obliged to spend each day one hundred silver coins only for himself and the money would be given him each day in the morning near the church. The task would last one year and six weeks.
Soon the volunteer was found, young and handsome and quite happy to have all those money to be spent. Everything seemed so simple to him.
He didn’t think the devil wouldn’t give freedom to the girl too easily.
Last day when the boy was going back home having the very last coin in his pocket a very old beggar appeared in front of him, and the boy, being a kind - hearted person handed him the coin without hesitation. Unfortunately, it was the devil itself that grabbed the boy and took him to hell.
The ghost of the Black Lady, instead, can still be seen at night in the Krzemionki area.
