Founded in 1873 the Botanic Garden of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow is the oldest one in Poland.
The Botanic garden was created due to the reform of the Cracow University, carried on by Hugo Kołłątaj at the end of 18th century.
In 1792 the old garden palace has been turned into an Astronomical Observatory (not functioning at present).
Opening times:
the garden is open for visitors between April and October
Everyday 9 am - 7 pm (in autumn 5 pm)
Glasshouses 10 am - 6 pm (on Friday closed)
