Kremówka papieska - the papal cake
It was only 1999 when during his pilgrimage to Wadowice, the pope
mentioned the local cafe in which he with the friends used to buy
the cake of unforgettable taste…
Next day everyone wanted to buy the cream cake - ‘kremówka papieska’ so called since after.
The cake however was and still is very popular even without the papal recommendation.
Here is the recipe:
pastry: 25 dag flour 25 dag pack of margarine 3 egg yolks custard cream: 3 glasses of milk 3 tbs of potato flour 15 dag sugar wanilla sugar 3 egg yolks
pastry :
the flour mix well with margarine,add egg yolks , leave for three hours in refrigerator.
Form two sheets of pastry and bake in medium heated oven.
cream :
2 glasses of milk boil with sugar.
1 glass of milk mix with flour and eggyolks, then the mass pour into boiling milk, stirr well.
Hot cream put onto the pastry, sprinkle pastry with powdered sugar.
Serve and enjoy !

of the shop used to add to the cream some drops of local alkohol.
No wonder the taste has been unforgettable…
