The Treasury is located in the oldest preserved part of the Castle, the lower part of the Gothic Tower traditionally used for storage of gunpowder and different weapons.

Unfortunately there are only a few Polish Royal Insignia preserved, almost all of the Crowns were stolen at the time when Poland lost Independence in 1795. Sooner after the robbery they were melted in Prussia into raw gold and silver, and gemstones vanished in the hands of various jewelers.

Nowadays exhibition display the Coronation Sword ‘Szczerbiec’ and Coronation clothes of king Zygmunt August.

The Armoury displays various ceremonial weapons , among them most spectacular are items connected with the battle of Vienna , ceremonial Polish and Turkish Horse Trappings, Saddles, Shields and ‘Buzdygan’ maces.
