1241 - Tartars invasion destroys wooden city, stone church of St.Andrew and the Castle remain

1257 - location of Krakow on Magdeburg’s Law , to help rebuilt the city Prince Boleslaw gives many privileges to the settlers in Krakow the old city gets its present chessboard shape

13th century end - work on the city wall and new towers

1320 - the first royal coronation in the Wawel Cathedral - Ladislas’ the Short; beginning of construction of a new Cathedral

1333 - King Ladislas dies - first chronicled Royal funeral in the Wawel Cathedral

1333-1370 - reign of Casimir the Great
1335 - Kazimierz founded as a separate town, Krakow district from 18th
1364 - the foundation of Academy, later named Jagiellonian University

1366 - Kleparz village founded, later part of Krakow

1386 - young Jadwiga (the future Saint) becomes the King of Poland,then she marries Lithuanian prince Jogailla (Władysław after christianising ) giving the start of
Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth which lasts until 1795
