The Tower is the only remains of the former Town Hall building, which has been destroyed in 1820, after the City Coucil had been moved to its present location, nearby on Plac św.Ducha ( Holy Spirit Square).

After climbing some narrow steps ( no elevator ) the visitors reach the first room with 14th century Gothic ribb-cross vaulting with remains of polichrome and medieval guild’s trademarks.

The next room is located near the big clock mechanism, through the four windows there is unforgettable panoramic view of the City.
There are small temporary displays, and planned permanent exhibition connected with history of Cracow’s City Council.

The bottom of the tower, once the heavy prison at present hosts the cafe and the theatre, with separate entrance.
