Cracow on the UNESCO list

World Heritage List
The present Market Square has been located in the year 1257 after the former city had been destroyed by the Mongol invasion.
For more than seven centuries the medieval web of the streets and parcels remains untouched, and the mansion houses are still standing on their original positions, unchanged
after the centuries. Almost every building has architectonic details reaching back to the year of the location.
Within the area of the Old City of Cracow are situated few romanesque churches, and nearby lies the Wawel Hill with the Cathedral and the Castle - former residence of polish kings.
The unique valour of the area, architectural and historical monuments is the main reason the Old City of Cracow in 1978 has joined the prestigious World Heritage List of Unesco, as one of the first places in the World.
