The guided tour to more than 700 years old Wieliczka Salt Mine visiting underground exhibition of miners’ tools, traces of excavation work from the past, sculptures made of salt, salt lake and everything of salt.

Standard Tour:
The entrance to the mines leads to the old shaft ‘Daniłowicz’, where after 380 steps guests reach the beginning of the route 64 m below the ground. The patch goes through the empty caves - remains of salt exploitation.On the first level there are pieces of wooden timbering left from the 17th century, the second level has remains from 18-19th centuries and the final third level form first half of 20th.
The most spectacular is the chapel of Saint Kinga, sometimes described as underground church, and several lakes with the water saturated with the salt.
The tour ends after about 2 hours with the short break.
Extended tour:
The underground museum exhibits original documents from the past, miners’ tools and devices, geological exposition with explanations of salt deposit origins and the model of Wieliczka town.
Above the surface remains of the medieval castle with museum of salt forms.

There is a possibility to have the guide for yourself, or there is the option to join the bigger group.
Due to nature of the mine some part of the mine may be closed for safety reasons.
