The winter capital of Poland, Zakopane also during the rest of the year attracts thousands of visitors, who enjoy tranquility of mountain landscape, the beauty of nature, old huts and wooden cottages built in Highlanders style without use of any iron.

On the way to Zakopane we are passing by the old village Chochołów with wooden buildings from the end of 19th century. After the WWII the village has been changed to the museum, where people living in have the responsibility for maintaining the buildings in original shape (with donations of the government).
The beginning of the Tatra mountains is also the beginning of National Park with picturesque entrances to the Valleys Chochołowska and Kościeliska. In Zakopane there is a church of Our Lady of Fatima, built by the local people to memory the prayers to Our Lady, which helped the Pope John Paul II to recover after being shot by Ali Agca.
In the centre of Zakopane there will be the time for lunch and/or shopping , there is also the funicular train to mount Gubałówka (300 m level span) with beautiful view of town Zakopane surrounded by the most important peaks in the Tatra mountains.
There is also a 150 years old wooden church of St. Klemens (Clementus) and adjaced cemetery with tombstones of various shapes and forms made with use of wood, metal or painted glass.
The winter sports are represented by the three ski jumps and FIS Downhill slope ‘Nosal’.
Another small church of wood ‘Jaszczurówka’ built in 1901 in Highlanders style is usually visited on the way back to Kraków.

There is a possibility to have the guide for your own, or the option to join the bigger group
